The Role of Psychiatric Drugs in Military Suicides and Sudden Deaths
Hundreds of impassioned protesters, including veterans, marched against the American Psychiatric Association which held more than 65 sessions on psychiatric treatment of military personnel, veterans and their families. Retired Colonel John A. Henke, a clinical psychologist and highly decorated Air Force pilot who worked with the Pentagon stated: “Instead of helping veterans recover from war, their pain has been masked with potent drugs. These, including opioid painkillers and mind-altering psychiatric drugs, are feeding addictions and contributing to the fatal overdose rate among VA patients that is nearly double the national average.” Citizens Commission on Human Rights launched a petition requesting the U.S. House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee to investigate with public hearings the role of psychiatric drugs in veteran suicides, sudden deaths and recent shootings at Fort Hood and the Washington Navy Yard.
No Rest for Psycho-Pharma Until Every American is Drugged
With nearly 79 million Americans currently taking at least one mind-altering psychiatric drug, it boggles the mind that a May 13, 2014 USA Today article titled, “The cost of not caring: Nowhere to go,” would argue that the nation is somehow suffering from a lack of mental health treatment. According to the article, “More than half a million Americans with serious mental illness are falling through the cracks of a system in tatters.” Based on the fact that one in four Americans is taking at least one psychiatric drug, it seems the psycho-pharmaceutical industry will not be satisfied until every American is under the influence of pharmacological “treatment”. The real force behind the article is the push to increase mental health screening, which is part of Representative Tim Murphy’s (R-Pa) controversial legislation (H.R. 3717). The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act of 2013, not only creates a new mental health czar, but it also increases spending for mental health training, screening, awareness campaigns and court-ordered treatment—up to a whopping $270 million a year. And this taxpayer mental health financial benevolence is expected without any data to support that even one psychiatric disorder is based in science. Worse still, nowhere in the article is mention made of the known serious adverse reactions to the psychiatric drugs commonly used as treatment.
The Cholesterol Drug War: ABC Australia Bans Documentary Exposing Statin Drug Scandal
Dr. MaryAnne Demasi's documentary on the criminal activity of the pharmaceutical industry regarding cholesterol-lowering statin drugs sent shock waves through the mainstream media in Australia last year. Published in two parts on the popular news show The Catalyst, the pharmaceutical industry complained loudly after the first show, and requested the network not air the second episode, "Heart of the Matter Part 2 – Cholesterol Drug War." ABC Australia aired it anyway, but the pharmaceutical influence is apparently too strong, as it was announced this week that the network would remove the videos from their website because "they breached its impartiality standards." They also removed them from YouTube. These two episodes were among the most watched videos on Health Impact News in 2013, with tens of thousands of "likes" on Facebook alone, helping the videos go viral outside of Australia. We found other copies on YouTube for now, but it may only be a matter of time before YouTube bans these altogether. Gardasil Toxic Contaminant Confirmed by Independent Lab in France
France is quickly becoming the leading nation around the world that is waking up to the reality that the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, is a dangerous product that never should have been allowed into the market. Dr. Bernard Dalbergue, a former pharmaceutical industry physician with Gardasil manufacturer Merck in France, recently stated that Gardasil will become the greatest medical scandal of all time. Norma Erickson of SaneVax, the leading news website documenting the dangers of Gardasil, recently announced that independent laboratories in France have confirmed that Gardasil contains toxic DNA fragments connected to over 79 serious diseases. The Gardasil manufacturer Merck cannot be sued in the United States for harm caused by faulty vaccines, since the U.S. Congress granted pharmaceutical companies total legal immunity from vaccines in the marketplace in 1986, and the U.S. Supreme Court upheld that law in 2011. In France, however, there are multiple lawsuits currently in place over injuries caused by the Gardasil vaccine.
One in Five Pregnant Women Take Opioid Painkillers
We’ve told you before about the dangers of prescription opioid painkillers: drugs like oxycodone (OxyContin) and hydrocodone (Vicodin) are incredibly addictive, and cause more deaths a year than heroin and cocaine combined. Alarmingly, a full 20% of pregnant women now use these prescription painkillers, according to the New York Times. What’s worse, not all women are being prescribed opioids equally: those with Medicaid, as well as those who live in the south, are being prescribed painkillers during pregnancy at much higher rates: 23% of women on Medicaid, compared to 14% of women with private insurance, are being prescribed opioids. While this is shocking, what doctors are prescribing as an alternative to these painkillers is just as dangerous.
Swiss Medical Board Against Systematic Mammograms
The Swiss Medical Board has recommended that no new systematic mammography screening programs be introduced, and a time limit should be placed on existing programs. Their review of mammography screening found the recommendations are based on outdated studies and the benefits do not outweigh the risks to women. One of the largest and longest studies of mammography to date found that mammograms have absolutely no positive impact on breast cancer mortality while 22 percent of women screened will be exposed to false positives and unnecessary treatment.

Senate Bill Would Subject Children to Mental Health Screening Without Parental Consent
Nothing would prevent a social worker from taking a child from an innocent family and having a “mental health care provider” (which could even include an unlicensed intern) conduct a psychological witch hunt under the guise of a “mental health screening,” prior to the initial detention hearing. The results of the screening (that is, the subjective analysis of one hand-picked mental health provider) could then be used as evidence to give the state authority over the child when in fact no abuse or neglect exists.
The Measles Vaccine Failure the U.S. Media is not Covering
Once again, we must turn to media outlets outside the U.S. to get straight facts concerning vaccines. The U.S. mainstream media only publishes one side of the vaccine debate and tries hard to squash any negative publicity regarding vaccines. We have previously reported how even local media sources in the U.S. are now reporting the truth about whooping cough outbreaks, since so many pertussis outbreaks are happening across the nation among fully vaccinated children, clearly showing that the vaccine is no longer effective. In spite of this well-documented fact that the whooping cough vaccine is a failure, it remains in the vaccine schedule and unvaccinated children are wrongly blamed for the outbreaks. In addition to whooping cough, measles is also making a comeback with new outbreaks, and again, the U.S. mainstream media is blaming unvaccinated children. But the failures of the measles vaccine are also well documented. Lawrence Solomon, the research director of the Consumer Policy Institute in Canada, recently wrote a series of articles exposing the faults of the measles vaccine that were published in the Financial Post. This is the other side of the measles story. One that is well-documented, but censored in the U.S. media.
Diabetic Drugs Increase Mortality
Why do Type 2 (adult-onset) diabetics have high blood sugar? Is it because they are lacking a prescription drug that lowers blood sugar levels? Of course not. Diabetics have elevated blood sugars because they have hormonal and nutritional imbalances often caused by eating an unhealthy diet. The authors studied 3336 participants and 248 deaths over a 14-year time period. Diabetes drugs increase mortality rates.
Congressman’s Bill Stops Federal Funds for Medical Centers Targeting Kids Like Justina Pelletier
Congressman Steve Stockman will introduce legislation cutting off funds to medical institutions that conduct greater than minimal risk research on wards of the state, deny First Amendment rights to parents and wards of the state, and take children away from their parents over disagreements on subjective diagnoses. Such medical institutions include the National Institute of Health, state agencies, medical facilities, and hospitals. This bill would direct the Inspector General of Health and Human Services to withhold funds from these institutions for the aforementioned reasons. The story of Justina Pelletier, who has mitochondrial disease and was declared a ward of the state over a custody battle regarding a subjective psychotropic drug diagnosis, motivated Congressman Stockman to introduce the legislation.

A popular antidepressant may promote breast cancer and even worse, it’s frequently prescribed to the most at-risk group: women in their 40s and 50s. We’ve told you before about the dangers of SSRIs, an incredibly popular class of antidepressants that can cause violent outbursts—both homicidal and suicidal. But now, researchers have found another alarming side effect: they may promote breast cancer. About 70% of breast cancers are sensitive to estrogen—that is, estrogen contributes to their growth. Recently, researchers have found that paroxetine—the active ingredient in Paxil and Pexeva, some of the most widely prescribed SSRI antidepressants—has an estrogenic effect that likely promotes the development and growth of breast tumors in women.
