Healthy Traditions Announces GMO-tested Corn Chips fried in Coconut Oil

This hardy chip will stand up to any guacamole, salsa, or nacho recipe you can bring. Our chip is very different from most other chips you will find in the market. These are made in small batches using authentic ingredients; the result is a chip that has a firm “bite” and won’t break at the site of that cold hummus from the fridge. We start by sourcing our corn from a farm in Central Mexico near what is thought to be the “birthplace” of corn. We went to this region because GMO corn is banned, therefore the risk of cross contamination from GMO corn is much lower. We also appreciate that the farmers grow corn from seed that has been passed down from generation to generation. By using heirloom corn we believe the real corn flavor comes through in our chip. The corn is grown using organic standards, but as an added assurance we have lab tested samples from the farm, with no trace of GMOs or glyphosate found in the batches we tested. Once we have the corn in the U.S. we send it to an expert tortilla maker in Austin, TX, where the corn is transformed into masa, through the traditional Aztec process of nixtamalization. During this process the corn is soaked and cooked in an alkaline solution of limewater (calcium hydroxide and water), which allows the husk to “slip” from the kernel. This process is beneficial in several ways.

The 2017 Dirty Dozen: Strawberries, Spinach Top EWG’s List of Pesticides in Produce

Strawberries remain at the top of the Dirty Dozen™ list of the EWG Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce™, with spinach jumping to second place in the annual ranking of conventionally grown produce with the most pesticide residues. EWG's analysis of tests by the U.S. Department of Agriculture found that nearly 70 percent of samples of 48 types of conventional produce were contaminated with residues of one or more pesticides. USDA researchers found a total of 178 different pesticides and pesticide breakdown products on the thousands of produce samples they analyzed. The pesticide residues remained on fruits and vegetables even after they were washed and, in some cases, peeled.

Uprising in Alabama? Public Educates DHR Board Member on Facebook Regarding Child Welfare Horrors

Last week (February 2017) we published the story of Shanley Devlin of Walker County, Alabama, and how her family was torn apart by the Department of Human Resources (DHR). Shanley was removed from the custody of her parents at the age of 14 after she became pregnant during the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. Her parents were housing many people from the neighborhood during the storms. In spite of the fact that the family wanted to raise the baby in their home, Alabama DHR allegedly charged the parents with “inadequate supervision,” and both their daughter and grandson were placed in foster care. Their daughter Shanley is now 20 years old holding a steady job and has place to live, but because she grew up in foster care, DHR will not allow her son to live with her. When we posted Shanley's story on our Facebook Page, the story quickly went viral with many people in Alabama sharing their own horror stories with DHR in Alabama on our Facebook Page. Someone posting as Margaret Morgan Silbernagel and claiming be "a member of the Esc. Co. DHR Board," apparently decided (or was appointed) to stand up for DHR and asserted: "This story cannot be accurate." But Ms. Silbernagel was apparently not prepared for the firestorm of comments that was about to come her way, as she later admitted: "This conversation has certainly been an eye opener. I do not do what I do for recognition or for any of your approvals." One of comments came from someone identifying herself as "the former mother-in-law" of the DHR social worker Judy Kitchens' daughter. Judy Kitchens is mentioned in our story as the social worker that removed Shanley and her baby from her parents home. Linda Motes Pullins stated that she did not think Judy Kitchens should be a social worker given the problems she alleges exist in Judy's own family, which she alleges includes a history of drug abuse.

Antibiotic Drugs in America’s Meat Supply: Scorecard Rates Worst Offenders in Restaurant Industry

A stunning 70 percent of all antibiotics important in human medicine in the U.S. are sold for use in animal agriculture. These lifesaving drugs are fed routinely to animals that are not sick in order to promote growth and prevent diseases that spread easily in crowded, filthy factory farm conditions. Husband of Retired Missouri Couple Medically Kidnapped – Estate Plundered to Pay for Unwanted Medical Confinement

Last November marks the beginning of the fourth year that 70 year old Charley Taylor of Missouri has been held by Morgan County in a nursing home against his will, after a trip to the emergency room turned into a permanent medical confinement. Although he has doctors who have stated that he is competent and of sound mind, and although his wife Helen had power of attorney to make decisions for him if he was medically not capable, a state-appointed Conservator has been appointed to him by the court to make all decisions, even against his own wishes and the wishes of his wife. Meanwhile his wife Helen, who has been fighting for her husband’s freedom, has also been battling against false accusations herself. She has been sent to jail based on false charges and later released due to lack of evidence, kidnapped and confined to a mental hospital until a doctor determined that there was nothing wrong with her, and has been evaluated five times to prove her own competency. She told Health Impact News: "We were financially set for the rest of our lives after 40 years of marriage until I called 911. Our lives have been destroyed and I am told everything to do when I see him. If this is justice, I don't need it. We want to be together. He is 70 years old, and I am 67." Helen and Charley worked hard for many years for everything that they owned—sometimes working several jobs in addition to their full-time jobs. Helen said, “I’ve worked all my life.” From 1979 to 2005 she was a field representative and managed doctors in medical facilities. She was so good at it that, she was sent across the country to open new facilities and train personnel. Additionally, Helen was also a mayor for two years in the town of Barnett, while also working a full-time job that required frequent travel, as well as a holding a municipal judge’s license. Helen’s former attorney became very concerned for her safety. He asked, “Do they know where you’re at? Cholesterol Lowering Statin Drugs Increase Progression of Coronary Artery Calcification

Statins are the most profitable medications produced by the Big Pharma Cartel. A report from the National Center for Health Statistics claims that 50% of men age 65-74, and nearly 40% of women over the age of 75 take a statin medication. A 2011 study found over 32 million Americans were taking a statin drug. If that many people are prescribed a drug, one would assume that the drug is effective at treating or preventing something. How effective are statin medications? Not very. This class of medications fails nearly 99% of those who take them. Cardiologists order coronary artery calcium scores to assess how much calcium is deposited in the coronary arteries. This test is done with a computerized tomography (CT) scan. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “Coronary calcium scores are the most sensitive approaches to detecting coronary calcification from atherosclerosis before symptoms develop.” In other words, the higher the coronary artery calcium score, the more risk there is for having a heart attack. An article in The Journal of the American College of Cardiology investigated whether the use of stains influences the progression of coronary artery calcification during five years of follow-up in subjects who took a statin medication and compared them to subjects who did not take a statin drug. The scientists reported that subjects who took statins for five years, when compared to those that took a placebo, were found to have a 2-fold increase in coronary artery calcification progression.

France to Ban People with Down Syndrome from Smiling

Another big step was taken towards the mass persecution of children with Down syndrome. On November 10th, the French ‘State Counsel’ rejected an appeal made by people with Down syndrome, their families and allies to lift the ban on broadcasting the award winning “Dear Future Mom” video on French television. The ban was previously imposed by the French Broadcasting Counsel. Kids who are unjustly described as a ‘risk’ before they are born, are now wrongfully portrayed as a ‘risk’ after birth too. The video features a number of young people from around the globe telling about their lives. Their stories reflect today’s reality of living with Down syndrome and aims to reassure women who have received a prenatal diagnosis. The State Counsel said that allowing people with Down syndrome to smile was “inappropriate” because people’s expression of happiness was “likely to disturb the conscience of women who had lawfully made different personal life choices”. Former Prisoners in LA County Women’s Jail Reveal Horrors of Human Experimentation

In this second part, host Tammi Stefano starts out by stating that the details of the horrors these two women experienced in the LA County jail are far worse than what was revealed in Part 1 of this interview. As part of an apparent human experiment, the women were kept confined, not in a cell block where two people occupy one cell, but in what is described as a "cage." "K" explained that "cage" is the correct term, and that 193 women were transferred into this cage with no bathroom, and no guard, for almost 30 days in the month of December, 2012. They slept on bunk beds, 3 to a bed, and only about 8 inches separating each mattress above, making it difficult to get in and out. She goes on to explain that due to racist attitudes among the prisoners, women would be trying to kill each other inside this cage when they were left alone at night. There was also no heat in this cage, and it was in the winter, where temperatures would drop below 30 degrees at night. The inmates were only give one thin blanket. This horrible environment was especially difficult for the elderly women, and those pregnant. The two women being interviewed were in separate cages, each with close to 200 inmates, during this time. Jessica talked about how those with medical conditions were supposed to get lower bunks, but many did not. She referenced a nurse who had terminal cancer, and was serving a sentence for allegedly writing a $400.00 bad check to get life-saving medicine for her condition. These women saw unbelievable horrors while incarcerated, including terrible violence and death, some of which they discuss in this interview.
