New Studies on Black Cumin Seeds Reveal Healing Powers for Asthma and Cancer

Black cumin seed (Nigella sativa) is an ancient natural healing remedy from the Mideast and India. Its phenomenal healing powers for so many ailments and diseases inspired the phrase "black seed cures everything but death." This year, 2018, two peer-reviewed published studies on black cumin seed were added to the long list of international studies confirming its safety and efficacy. The diseases tested using Nigella sativa (N. Sativa) are enough to fill a medical manual. The two recent studies focused on asthma and renal (kidney) cancer. Both were concluded with positive results. The fact that both studies were done with the intention of finding plant-based solutions to replace pharmaceutical drugs instead of trying to find active ingredients for pharmaceutical companies to synthesize and sell at high prices is unique. It’s also interesting that this sort of endeavor is going on outside the USA and most Western nations. The fact is that this ancient Mideast remedy has been thoroughly researched over the past few decades with positive results for many ailments and diseases that are common today. The literature is there, the “science is in,” but it’s willfully ignored by mainstream medicine and media on this side of the Pacific. Black cumin seed empowers one to take responsibility for one’s own health.

Study: Antacids During Pregnancy Linked to Increase in Asthma in Children

Not only do they make your acid reflux problems worse, acid blockers actually sicken your unborn child. An analysis of eight different studies, including data from over 1.6 million patients, found that taking heartburn medication during pregnancy significantly increases the risk for asthma for the baby. The researchers found that proton pump inhibitors (such as Prilosec or Nexium) increase the risk of babies developing asthma by 30%; other acid blockers (like Pepcid and Tagamet) increased the risk by 46%. These are huge numbers. This is of course only the latest alarm bell to go off regarding Big Pharma’s wrong-headed answer to acid reflux and stomach problems. These drugs are the poster children of everything wrong with our current medical establishment and drug approval process.

Study: Consuming Unprocessed High-fat Cow’s Milk Protects Against Asthma

Could the consumption of processed dairy products be a leading cause of childhood asthma? That is a question researchers in Europe recently looked at, and their results were just published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Significant reduction of risk for developing childhood-onset asthma is related to continuous consumption of high-fat unprocessed cow's milk, according to these European researchers. The longitudinal study looked at 1133 children from birth to age 6 years living in rural areas of 5 European countries: Austria, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, and France. The study was able to demonstrate that "continuous consumption of unprocessed farm milk contributes to protection from childhood-onset asthma." And the good news is that one does NOT have to live on a farm to enjoy these benefits. Drinking the high-fat unprocessed farm milk alone was beneficial.

Study: Lavender Essential Oil has Anti-inflammatory Effect on Asthma

A study on treating asthma with essential oil showed substantial benefits from the use of lavender oil. Over 26 million children and adults in the United States have asthma. Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases experienced by children. Many adults also have asthma. Inflamed airways in the lungs cause wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing at night or early in the morning. An intensification of symptoms is called an asthma attack. An asthma attack is often triggered by exposure to some type of external air contamination.

Ginger Benefits People with Asthma

Ginger has potent anti-inflammatory and other effects that may help with pain relief, diabetes control, heart health, weight management and much more. New research found that adding ginger compounds to isoproterenol, a type of asthma medication, enhanced its bronchodilating effects, helping to open airways. Ginger is wonderful for your gastrointestinal tract and may help relieve nausea, morning sickness and motion sickness. Fresh ginger is simple to use; peel the root using a paring knife and then slice it thinly (or mince it) to add to tea or cooked dishes.

Study: Evidence that Acetaminophen, Especially in Conjunction with Vaccines, is a Major Cause of Autism and Asthma

In this just-published study by Dr. William Shaw in the Journal of Restorative Medicine, strong evidence is presented that acetaminophen (sold as Tylenol or Paracetamol) increases in the rate of autism, asthma, and attention deficit with hyperactivity in genetically and/or metabolically susceptible children. In the United States, acetaminophen is sold as an over-the-counter drug that needs no prescription, in spite of the fact that it results in death for hundreds of Americans each year. Many of the statistics on deaths and injuries due to acetaminophen was revealed in a comprehensive report earlier this year by ProPublica (See: Tylenol is Killing Americans). The evidence presented in this study is very convincing, as it looked at autism rates in Cuba, where acetaminophen is only available via prescription, and not widely used. Will the FDA finally act to take popular acetaminophen drugs off the market, or are market forces so strong as to prevail, even in the face of such overwhelming evidence?

Tylenol is Killing Americans

During the last decade, more than 1,500 Americans died after accidentally taking too much of a drug renowned for its safety: acetaminophen, one of the nation’s most popular pain relievers. Acetaminophen – the active ingredient in Tylenol – is considered safe when taken at recommended doses. But in larger amounts, especially in combination with alcohol, the drug can damage or even destroy the liver. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has long been aware of studies showing the risks of acetaminophen – in particular, that the margin between the amount that helps and the amount that can cause serious harm is smaller than for other pain relievers. So, too, has McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the unit of Johnson & Johnson that has built Tylenol into a billion-dollar brand and the leader in acetaminophen sales. Yet federal regulators have delayed or failed to adopt measures designed to reduce deaths and injuries from acetaminophen overdose, which the agency calls a “persistent, important public health problem.” The FDA has repeatedly deferred decisions on consumer protections even when they were endorsed by the agency’s own advisory committees, records show. In 1977, an expert panel convened by the FDA issued urgently worded advice, saying it was “obligatory” to put a warning on the drug’s label that it could cause “severe liver damage.” After much debate, the FDA added the warning 32 years later. The panel’s recommendation was part of a broader review to set safety rules for acetaminophen, which is still not finished. Four years ago, another FDA panel backed a sweeping new set of proposals to bolster the safety of over-the-counter acetaminophen. The agency hasn’t implemented them. Just last month, the FDA blew through another deadline.

When Less Is More: The Buteyko Method of Reduced Breathing May Be a Cure for Asthma

In the 1950s, a young Russian doctor was suffering from chronic illness. He had only been given a few years to live due to chronic severe hypertension. As a result of patterns and relationships he observed in his own bouts of illness, he developed a method for treating asthma and other diseases through a series of breathing exercises. The young man was named Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko, and his simple, free, innovative method for overcoming asthma, other lung diseases and many other chronic illnesses is called the Buteyko method or Buteyko Breathing Technique. The method has been approved by the Russian State Medical System, and today the Buteyko method is a significant part of the routine treatment protocol for chronic illness among conventional practitioners in Russia and Australia, as well as many alternative medical practitioners around the world.

How to Address Allergies and Asthma with Alternative Allergy Treatments

If you’re one of the tens of millions of allergy sufferers in the US, know there is plenty you can do besides lining the pockets of the pharmaceutical industry.

Advair: How Safe Is This Drug?

Excerpts:

The 2001 product launch of the asthma drug Advair (fluticasone/salmeterol) was a lavish, Las Vegas affair.

Using images of a slot machine to illustrate their message, top GlaxoSmithKline executives took the stage in front of thousands of assembled sales reps. “There are people in this room who are going to make […]
