New Studies Confirm: Raw Milk A Low-Risk Food

Three quantitative microbial risk assessments (QMRAs) recently published in the Journal of Food Protection have demonstrated that unpasteurized milk is a low-risk food, contrary to previous, inappropriately-evidenced claims suggesting a high-risk profile. These scholarly papers, along with dozens of others, were reviewed on May 16, 2013 at the Centre for Disease Control in Vancouver, BC (Canada), during a special scientific Grand Rounds presentation entitled “Unpasteurized milk: myths and evidence.”

The reviewer, Nadine Ijaz, MSc, demonstrated how inappropriate evidence has long been mistakenly used to affirm the “myth” that raw milk is a high-risk food, as it was in the 1930s. Today, green leafy vegetables are the most frequent cause of food-borne illness in the United States. British Columbia CDC’s Medical Director of Environmental Health Services, Dr. Tom Kosatsky, who is also Scientific Director of Canada’s National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health,welcomed Ms. Ijaz’s invited presentation as “up-to-date” and “a very good example of knowledge synthesis and risk communication.”

As Fecal Transplants Cure and Save Lives, FDA Classifies Poop as a Drug and Restricts It

Fecal Microbiata Transplant (FMT) has been documented to cure disease and save lives. It has primarily been studied in treating anti-biotic resistant bacteria, such as Clostridium difficile where some doctors have reported a 100% success rate with no side effects.

Because doctors were using fecal matter from healthy people to cure C. diff and other diseases, the FDA stepped in and declared fecal matter as a “drug.” Since it is a drug they have not approved, it now officially in Phase 1 of the drug research and approval process, a process that can take many years. In a letter from the FDA to the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), they stated that FMT is not to be used by physicians, other than in life saving situations subject to a formal IND (Investigational New Drug) application.

So why would the FDA make the ridiculous claim that someone’s healthy poop is a drug, and start regulating a safe therapy that has saved so many lives, cured so many with bowel diseases, and has virtually no recorded adverse effects?

Japan Health Ministry no Longer Recommending HPV Vaccines due to Dangerous Side Effects

The health ministry of Japan has issued a nationwide notice that cervical cancer vaccinations should no longer be recommended for girls aged 12 to 16 because several adverse reactions to the medicines have been reported.

“It is necessary to gather information immediately to accurately grasp how often (the side effects) are occurring,” said Mariko Momoi, who chairs the panel at the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry that decided to suspend the recommendation. Momoi is vice president of the International University of Health and Welfare.

Mika Matsufuji, 46, who represents an association of cervical cancer vaccination victims’ parents, said the health panel’s decision was a “big step forward.” Her daughter, who was vaccinated with Cervarix in 2011, lost the ability to walk and is now in a wheelchair, she said. The group is calling for the vaccinations to be halted.

Is the Ketogenic Diet the Cure for Multiple Diseases?

The ketogenic diet was developed at John Hopkins hospital in the 1920s as a natural cure for epilepsy, when drugs failed. It is a high fat diet restricting carbohydrates. African Groups Reject G8 Biotech Food Plan as 'Colonialism'

African farmers’ movements and civil society groups have rejected the G8’s New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition as part of a “new wave of colonialism” targeting their food systems for corporate profit. The African statement accuses the G8 of supporting multinational corporations like Yara, Monsanto, Syngenta, Cargill in their quest to privatise African agriculture: “Private ownership of knowledge and material resources (for example, seed and genetic materials) means the flow of royalties out of Africa into the hands of multinational corporations.” The statement calls for alternative strategies to protect sustainable agricultural techniques already in development across Africa which put household food security before corporate profits.

A New Bill Would Include Nutritional Supplements in Health Savings Accounts

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and three of his colleagues have introduced S 1031, a bill that would allow Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to go toward dietary supplements without having to get a doctor’s prescription; the same would apply to Health Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). The legislation, called the Family and Retirement Health Investment Act of 2013, does this by expanding the term “medical care” to include dietary supplements, and it would allow spending up to $1,000 each year. A companion bill, HR 2194, was introduced in the House by Rep. Erick Paulsen (R-MN).

New Report Shows Cholesterol Drugs Cause Muscle and Joint Injuries

According to a report published by JAMA Internal Medicine, cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins) have been linked to musculoskeletal and joint injuries and adverse events especially in those pursuing physical activity. Statin-associated musculoskeletal adverse events (AEs) include a wide variety of clinical presentations, including muscle weakness, muscle cramps and tendinous (tendon) diseases. In addition, the known side effects of statin drugs include inflammation and pathological breakdown of muscle, acute kidney failure, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, interference with sex hormones and death.

Stand with Family Farmers — Protect Them from a Tax Benefiting Agribusiness

This amendment to the Farm Bill allows farmers to voluntarily choose whether or not they pay into Federal “checkoff” programs. Anytime a farmer sells a steer, a gallon of milk, an egg, bushel of corn or soybeans, or any other covered commodity, the producer is required to pay a fee to industry-run organizations for marketing campaigns. This would allow organic farmers and processors to decide whether they pay into the conventional check-off programs and or use this money to benefit organic and local production.

Study: Flu Vaccine Causes 5.5 Times More Respiratory Infections - A True Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated Study

Would you be interested in a vaccination that results in more than 5 times as much illness? If you take the seasonal influenza vaccination, that’s what you’re doing. The seasonal trivalent flu vaccine results in 5.5 times more incidents of respiratory illness, according to a study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases.

While the government in the U.S. continues to resist doing a true study on vaccinated vs. unvaccinated children or adults, stating that such a study would be “unethical”, researchers in Hong Kong have conducted a true vaccinated vs. unvaccinated study on the influenza vaccine. This is probably one of the few, if not only, true study conducted in recent times where a real placebo was actually used and compared to the vaccine.

The utter absurdity of vaccination ‘science’ is revealed in this study. It claims a flu vaccine results in less disease risk because it causes antibodies to develop, in spite of not reducing the likelihood of contracting the disease and also resulting in 5.5 times more incidents of similar diseases!
