5. Because the world should eat more food that is less nutritious

Kicking off the countdown, we start with the biggest “duh” moment for the organic foodies out there. We need to eat food that is lower in vitamins and minerals. Now, there are plenty of reports that say organic food is more nutritious than conventionally grown food, but all we have to do is disregard them. It’s easy – let’s role play for a moment. I will be you and you can be me:

You (played by me): “I bought this apple from the store. It’s organic. I bet it’s great and nutritious!”

Me (played by you): “No. It’s the same. The people that make them say so.”

You (played by me, again): “Well, I don..”

Me (played by you and cutting me off): “Shut up. Scientists say so. You have no choice.”

Do you see how easy that is? It’s just like when you were in high school and you beat up that kid from chess club. Sure, he was smarter than you – but who cares – you were louder and meaner.

4. Diabetes and obesity should be embraced

With genetically modified food being so cheap to manufacture, companies can create more items with ingredients like High Fructose Corn Syrup and hydrogenated oils. Not only can the food we eat taste sweeter, it can last for months or years without spoiling! It’s a thing of beauty really. Because our favorite soda and snack cakes are so cheap, we can still eat a ton of “food” even during this high unemployment period. It’s a win-win!

Since “sugar is sugar”, we should have no problem drinking a 32 oz “small” drink at our local movie theater, eating some candy made with HFCS and food coloring and then top it all off with some genetically modified popcorn with artificial butter for a chaser. From what I hear, it’s all good. Everything is just fine. No way you can get fat or have insulin problems with this mix of foods. There is nothing to see here. Just move on…

Since we have motorized wheelchairs and insulin syringes, what is there to worry about? We can get sullen about our gangrenous limbs when we get old, right? I for one believe that the companies that make our “food” and our “food cures” should be the same. This way, we have a closed system of people in the know!

3. Food should cost next to nothing to allow for big cell phone bills

This one is self-explanatory. If all of our food is so cheap that we can eat and drink whatever we want, whenever we want, it frees up money for important things like ensuring that we can text our BFF what time the rave starts. Food so cheap that it’s almost free? I AM IN! Even if it’s “food-like” – it’s close enough for me. Plus, I do want that new laptop computer. It’s another win-win if I can achieve this by feeding my child the cheapest food possible! She can worry about her health when she is older. It’s cheaper on the economy to worry about it later anyway.

2. We should allow our entire food supply to be owned by a few companies

If these agribusiness chemical companies were not trustworthy, how could their employees work for the USDA so often? The government always has our best interest at heart. They would never do anything like cater to the bottom line of shareholders and lobbyists over our safety. So, if we let these big companies get even bigger, they can make our food even more cheaply, thereby allowing us to get more non-food gadgets! (See # 3)

Think about it – if a few companies own 95% of the seed AND the chemicals required to make those seeds effective, there is nothing short of a monopoly. As we all know, monopolies are the best thing for us average citizens. If people are not telling us what we should buy nor controlling the prices on the products, how will we get along? As we know, farm-based cultures like the Amish often fall into anarchy. Without careful control of our food supply, we will be at the whim of the agrarians!

1. God is sorry he messed up our DNA so badly

Typically, God gets stuff right. But we have now learned that the Almighty could have done better when it came to the DNA of plants and animals. We now know that if you take a toxic bacteria and create a plant mutation from it, we will get a better life form! But best of all – this life form could be patented and anyone that tries to use it without written consent might be sued. It’s nothing less than a government-approved written contract owning life. AWESOME!
