Last week, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) to turn over unredacted versions from some of the Epstein files that have been heavily redacted.

Finally: A Judge Orders the Government to Release the Rest of the Epstein Files in a Lawsuit Filed by Katie Phang

Excerpts (emphasis mine):

Back on May 1, my friend Katie Phang joined us for Five Questions. Four days earlier, she had sued Todd Blanche over DOJ’s failure to fully release the Epstein Files in compliance with the Transparency Act.

At the time, I called it “a novel theory, but one that’s very elegant.”

And tonight, I can add successful.

Late this afternoon, the Judge entered an injunction in her favor.

The terms of the injunction require the Justice Department to correct parts of its incomplete production of the Epstein Files by fixing the following failures in its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act that Congress passed last year:

  • Unredacting the names of senders and recipients in at least eight email exchanges that involve Jeffrey Epstein regarding a “torture video” and sexual activity with young women, including minors.
  • Unredacting the names of possible co-defendants identified in a draft indictment, the names of individuals identified as possible co-conspirators, and the names of the individuals who were the sender and the recipients of an internal DOJ email briefing on the prosecution.
  • Turning over notes from FBI interviews with a victim who alleged that in the 1980s, when she was about 13 years old, Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump, who assaulted her.
  • Reviewing and producing foreign language materials, all of which were previously not included.
  • Publishing logs detailing redactions that were made to documents and the reasons for them.

That obviously covers a lot of ground; all of it highly contentious. It’s material that the Act clearly called for production of and that the government simply refused to provide, without offering reasons that justified withholding it under the terms of the Act.

Now, a federal Judge has called DOJ’s bluff. (Full article.)

The DOJ has until July 2nd (Thursday this week) to comply with the court order.

One of the most anticipated unredacted files is the case of Katie Johnson, known as “Jane Doe 4” in the Epstein files, and the FBI notes about her case from 2019. Many, including Congressman Thomas Massie, have criticized the DOJ for redacting these files.

Here is some information about Katie Johnson published last year:

Horrible Atrocities: “Katie Johnson’s Allegations Against Donald Trump, Centered on Claims of Sexual Assault in 1994”

Excerpts:

Katie Johnson’s allegations against Donald Trump, centered on claims of sexual assault in 1994 when she was 13, emerged in a series of lawsuits filed in 2016, casting a shadow over Trump’s presidential campaign.

These accusations, tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, have sparked significant controversy, amplified by their political and social implications.

Below is an examination of the timeline, legal proceedings, key details, and broader context surrounding these claims, focusing on documented facts and the complexities of the investigations, as well as Trump’s consistent denials and the scrutiny of his Epstein connection.

In April 2016, a woman using the pseudonym “Katie Johnson” filed a federal lawsuit in Riverside, California, accusing Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein of raping and sexually assaulting her at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse in 1994 during a series of parties.

The suit, filed without legal representation, claimed Johnson was lured to these events with promises of a modeling career and alleged that both men subjected her to “sexual abuse under threat of harm” and “conspiracy to deprive civil rights,” seeking $100 million in damages.

The complaint described graphic details, including Trump allegedly tying her to a bed, forcibly raping her, and threatening her and her family to ensure silence, referencing another girl, “Maria,” who reportedly disappeared. A supporting affidavit from “Tiffany Doe,” an anonymous witness claiming to have worked for Epstein, corroborated Johnson’s account, alleging she recruited Johnson and witnessed the assaults.

This initial lawsuit was dismissed in May 2016 by a U.S. District judge for failing to cite a valid civil rights claim, with the judge noting that the cited statutes did not apply to the allegations and that Johnson, claiming indigence, could not be exempted from court costs.

Undeterred, Johnson, now represented by attorneys and using the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” refiled a similar lawsuit in New York federal court in June 2016, reiterating the 1994 rape allegations but adjusting some details, such as omitting claims about an abortion or ethnic slurs attributed to Trump.

A third version of the suit was filed in September 2016, again in New York, with affidavits from “Tiffany Doe” and another anonymous witness who claimed Johnson had confided in them at the time.

These filings alleged Trump knew Johnson was 13 and described multiple sexual encounters, including a role-play scenario. However, on November 2, 2016, days before the presidential election, Johnson was scheduled to appear at a press conference organized by attorney Lisa Bloom to reveal her identity.

She abruptly canceled, citing “numerous threats” that left her “in terrible fear,” according to Bloom.

Two days later, on November 4, 2016, her attorney Thomas Meagher filed a notice to voluntarily dismiss the case without explanation.

Johnson has not been heard from publicly since, and no criminal charges were filed. (Full article.)

A video of Katie Johnson in what appears to be a deposition has been on the Internet for several years now, describing what she went through as she says she was raped by Epstein and Trump when she was 13 years old. Here is a copy you can watch:

With this new court order to unredact the FBI interviews with Katie, referred to as Jane Doe 4, The Guardian is reporting today that she fears for her life, and is now in hiding off grid.

Alleged Epstein victim and Trump accuser living in fear of retaliation, relative says

Excerpts:

A woman known as Jane Doe 4 in the Jeffrey Epstein files is “staying off the grid” and lives in fear of retaliation from the Trump administration amid an escalating controversy over its handling of her case, according to a family member.

Trauma is brutal. Chronic trauma destroys,” said the relative, who described the woman’s life as layers of abuse dating back to early childhood.

She’s coping as best she can.”

The woman had four interviews with FBI agents in 2019 that keep resurfacing in the Epstein sex-trafficking scandal.

She is one of the only alleged Epstein victims to have directly accused Trump, and irregularities in the justice department’s handling of her case files have now become a rallying point for critics of the acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, who is the US president’s nominee for permanent appointment.

A federal judge in Washington last week gave Blanche until 2 July to produce unredacted versions of files the justice department has already released, or provide an explanation for why it cannot produce the unredacted records.

The Department of Justice was also ordered to release interview notes related to Jane Doe 4’s allegations. The decision was part of a civil case against Blanche brought by journalist Katie Phang.

Late Friday, the justice department’s number three official, Stanley Woodward, gave notice he will join the case.

They really, really don’t want these documents released,”

tweeted Brendan Ballou, a lawyer for the Public Integrity Project, who is representing Phang.

Will the DOJ comply with the law and with this judge’s order by this Thursday?

Not likely! They will probably appeal it or just outright refuse it, because they do not want certain files implicating Trump’s sexual activity with Epstein and minor children to go public.

While I was able to search and find this news by The Guardian today about Katie hiding and fearing for her life, and last week’s court order to unredact her files, it is not in the normal news feeds of the corporate media, where it should actually be HEADLINE NEWS!

So do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.

And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:26-28)
