Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emerged victorious in today’s national Turkish elections, despite the Western Media’s attempts to discredit the conservative Turkish President, and support his main opponent, liberal Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

As I reported last week, even the Right Wing Christian Conservative media put out hit pieces against Erdoğan and supported Kılıçdaroğlu, in spite of his liberal pro-LGBT views in a country that is 99% percent Muslim.

I find it comical that these “conservative” publications like TownHall and Epoch Times will print this view of Erdoğan’s opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, as “much more moderate.”

That is just propaganda for saying “progressive liberal.” If we were to compare Erdoğan with Kiliçdaroglu on their social positions, it would be very similar to comparing former U.S. President Donald Trump to current U.S. President Joe Biden.

One side is allegedly pro-traditional family and “family values”, and the other side is pro-LGBT and non-traditional gender roles.

Erdoğan has even campaigned on these social issues, pointing out the fact that Kiliçdaroglu is pro-LGBT, while most Muslims clearly are not.

Of course to the Conservative Christian Right in the U.S., “conservative” is only conservative if it applies to Christians, but not other religions. (Full article.)

The reason why the Christian Right sided with Biden and the democrats to try and affect the Turkish national elections, is because both sides in the U.S., both the “liberals” and the “conservatives”, overwhelmingly support the war in Ukraine while demonizing Russia.

Turkey, which is also a member of NATO, has rejected calls for sanctions against Russia, who is their neighbor, and unlike most of Europe, they have worked together with Russia to develop nuclear power and energy independence, as have most of the Muslim countries in the Middle East these days, as they band together to work with both Russia and China to throw off decades of U.S. dominance in the region, as the U.S. has controlled Middle Eastern oil and energy through their military presence for many years now.

At the time of writing this article, over 64 million people in Turkey, which has a population of about 85 million, had cast their votes and about 97% of the ballots had been counted, giving Erdoğan a 2.3 million vote lead over his nearest opponent, the U.S.-backed Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Erdoğan is just short of reaching 50% of the popular vote at this point, which would mean that there will be a runoff between him and Kılıçdaroğlu in two weeks.

Unless something happens to Erdoğan in the meantime, he is all but assured to win the runoff elections.

A few days before the elections, one of the other candidates for President, Muharrem İnce, withdrew from the race over allegations that a recording of him in a sex scandal had surfaced.

İnce claimed that the tape was a deepfake, using footage taken from “an Israeli porn site”. (Source.)

Western media sources were quick to predict that İnce’s withdrawal would help Kılıçdaroğlu defeat Erdoğan.

Turkish opposition candidate Muharrem İnce announced Thursday he was pulling out of the presidential race, in a surprise move just three days before the election.

İnce’s withdrawal is set to benefit the main opposition candidate, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is currently neck and neck with longtime President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the polls — and it could even allow Kılıçdaroğlu to claim outright victory in the first round.

İnce, who is currently polling around 2 percent according to POLITICO’s Poll of Polls, has been diverting votes from the main opposition candidate, Kılıçdaroğlu, who is supported by a six-party coalition uniting parties from left and right against Erdoğan. (Source.)

If İnce was correct in blaming this on a smear attack by Israeli and U.S. sources to boost Kılıçdaroğlu’s chances of winning the election, then the plan didn’t work, as Erdoğan still came close to reaching 50%, and could still potentially reach that amount at the time of this writing, as some votes have not been calculated yet.

Some famous Turks casting ballots in today’s national elections. Top photos: Sultan Kösen, who has the title of “the tallest man in the world” with his height of 8 feet and 2.82 inches, and Rümeysa Gelgi, who is in the Guinness Book of Records as the “tallest woman in the world,” at 2 meters and 15 centimeters (over 7 feet. The elections today were free of any violence, and by Turkish law, results from polling were not allowed by the media until after 9 p.m. local times.

If there is a run-off in two weeks, Kılıçdaroğlu would need to get about 85% of candidate Sinan Oğan’s 2.8 million votes, as Oğan will not qualify for the runoffs.

There is almost ZERO percent chance of that happening, as Oğan is referred to in the Western media as a “far-right Nationalist.”

He is an Azerbaijani Turk who was educated in Russia where he received a PhD in International Relations and Political Science (source), and while he opposes many of the positions of Erdoğan as part of the opposition, he also is critical of the how the West has supported Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Sinan Ogan, Turkish presidential candidate from the Ata alliance, believes that the position of Western countries on the Ukrainian conflict is too one-sided and does not contribute to its stabilization and resolution.

He urged putting out “the fire of conflict” and also condemned Western intervention in regional crises. He spoke about it in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“In general, we do not consider the approach of Western intervention in regional crises to be correct. We have seen what this led to in Iraq. We have seen the supply of weapons to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from the United States. In this regard, in my view, the West’s position on the conflict in Ukraine is too one-sided, contributing to instigating the conflict rather than stabilizing it. We all need to put out this fire,” he told the agency. (Source.)

So unless the U.S. or Israel tries to take down Erdoğan through an assassination or by kidnapping him, Erdoğan’s victory seems certain. Erdoğan has been democratically re-elected by the people of Turkey several times now.

Erdoğan stated that the opposition bloc led by his main rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu “acted with the motivation of greed and revenge,” after their past defeats.

“We cannot accept this ugliness,” he said, referring to what he called a smear campaign. Without naming names, Erdoğan said it was the same power “that forced Meral Akşener back to the opposition bloc after she stepped down,” which “forced Muharrem Ince to withdraw from the candidacy three days before the election.”

Erdoğan accused Kılıçdaroğlu of being a “puppet of that power,” which saw him “cheering Qandil,” in reference to the hub of the PKK terrorist group in northern Iraq.

He also criticized Kılıçdaroğlu over his claims that Russia interfered in Turkish elections through deep fake content. “It is a shame. What can you say if I tell you that the United States, Britain and Germany manipulate the elections?” he said.

“They used the same method to take over a political party and used it again, against a name who challenged me in the last election, from their own party,” he said. Erdoğan was referring to the resignation of late CHP Chair Deniz Baykal, who stepped down after a sex tape scandal blamed on FETÖ. Kılıçdaroğlu succeeded Baykal as CHP’s leader.

Erdoğan also heaped criticism on “the West.”

“We are competing against those trying to disrupt the ‘Century of Türkiye,’” he said, referring to his ambitious vision of a series of megaprojects and reforms in the centenary of the Republic of Türkiye. “Magazines have covers reading ‘Erdoğan must go.’

It is none of your business. The West cannot decide it. It is up to my nation.” (Source.)
