Zionist Organization of America awards former US President Trump rare honor

Israel was the only nation to have a majority that supported Trump’s policies

by All Israel News

The Zionist Organization of America, which works to strengthen U.S.-Israel relations and combat anti-Israel bias, announced last Friday that it will award the “rarely given” Theodor Herzl Medallion to former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In an email sent to its members, the ZOA said it was honoring the former president “for being the best friend Israel ever had in the White House.”

Dr. Miriam Adelson, physician and billionaire, will present Trump’s award on Nov. 13 at the Zionist Organization’s national awards dinner in New York City. Adelson will also honor House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., with ZOA’s Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Defender of Israel Award.

In the email to its members, the ZOA listed among the former president’s accomplishments:

  • Moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem;
  • Recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights;
  • Brokering the Abraham Accords peace agreements between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates; and three months later, between Israel and Morocco;
  • Removing the U.S. from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal;
  • Stopping U.S. funding of the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA, a group exclusively focused on financing Palestinian refugees and their descendants;
  • Recognizing the legality of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria;
  • Being the first U.S. president to pray at the Western Wall; and
  • Issuing an executive order to strengthen Title VI of the Civil Rights Act in order to protect Jewish students

Trump Deposed In Defamation Suit Filed By E. Jean Carroll who Alleges He Raped her in a Department Store Dressing Room in the mid-1990s

by Associated Press

Former President Donald Trump answered questions under oath Wednesday in a lawsuit filed by E. Jean Carroll, a magazine columnist who says he raped her in the mid-1990s in a department store dressing room.

The deposition gave Carroll’s lawyers a chance to interrogate Trump about the assault allegations, as well as statements he made in 2019 when she told her story publicly for the first time.

Details on how the deposition went weren’t immediately disclosed.

“We’re pleased that on behalf of our client, E. Jean Carroll, we were able to take Donald Trump’s deposition today. We are not able to comment further,” the law firm representing her, Kaplan Hecker & Fink, said in a statement.

Trump has said Carroll’s rape allegation is “a hoax and a lie.”

His legal team worked for years to delay his deposition in the lawsuit, which was filed when the Republican was still president. A federal judge last week rejected Trump’s request for another delay, saying he couldn’t “run the clock out on plaintiff’s attempt to gain a remedy for what allegedly was a serious wrong.”

Trump’s lawyers didn’t immediately respond Wednesday to a request for comment about the deposition.

Carroll was to have been questioned by Trump’s lawyers last Friday. Neither her attorneys nor Trump’s have responded to questions about how that deposition went.

The lawyers also haven’t disclosed whether Trump’s deposition was done in person or remotely, over video. Trump was in Florida on Wednesday. The lawsuit is being handled in a court in New York City.

Anything Trump said during his deposition could potentially be used as evidence in an upcoming civil trial. He hasn’t faced any criminal charges related to Carroll’s allegations, and any prosecution is unlikely. The deadline for criminal charges over alleged sexual assaults that occurred in the 1990s has long expired.

Similar legal deadlines also applied to civil lawsuits claiming sexual assault. As a result, Carroll chose to sue Trump for defamation over comments he made in 2019 when he denied any wrongdoing. She maintains that her reputation was damaged by his denials and attacks on her credibility and character.

However, New York lawmakers recently gave people a one-year window to take old sexual assault claims to civil courts. Carroll’s lawyer has told the court she intends to file such a suit against Trump after that window opens in late November.

E. Jean Carroll is, of course, one of dozens of women who have claimed that Trump sexually abused them.

With groundbreaking interviews, behind-the-scenes reporting, and never-before-seen photos, All the President’s Women records 43 new allegations of sexual misconduct against President Trump.

During his 2016 presidential run, the revelation of the Access Hollywood tape and subsequent allegations of sexual misconduct lodged against Donald Trump looked like they might doom his candidacy. Trump survived, and the first two years of the real estate scion’s presidency were marked not by controversy over his behavior around women but by the Mueller investigation.

So far, Trump has dodged the #MeToo bullet that has taken down so many once-powerful men. But despite the decades of tabloid fascination with his personal life, the story of Trump’s relationship with women has never been fully told. Considering his bully pulpit in the White House, the reckoning is overdue.

All the President’s Women offers the most detailed account yet of Trump’s history with women, dating back to his childhood and high school days through his rise in real estate, reality TV, and politics. This book will show that Trump’s behavior goes far beyond occasional “locker-room talk” and unwanted advances.

Barry Levine and Monique El-Faizy detail more than a dozen new allegations against Trump, including a disturbing attack on a woman at Mar-a-Lago, an incident at a private Manhattan sex club involving a teenage girl, as well as Trump’s behavior at fashion shows and beauty pageants–events that gave the future president a hunting ground to harass young women.

Veteran journalists Levine and El-Faizy tell the story of Trump from the point of view of the women in his orbit–wives, mistresses, playmates, and those whom the president has dated, kissed, groped, or lusted after. (Source.)

Trump better than someone else for Pres?

I am totally with you about the “vax” and if he wasn’t so pro vax I’d love to have him back as Pres.

Here’s the thing: yes he’s not good, but someone has to be pres. Who would be the one least objectionable? I think that should be touched upon.

Thank you for all your columns and the work that you do.

Best,

Darlene
