Why Are U.S. Breast Cancer Rates Out of Control?

In the US, breast cancer rates are out of control. Presently, one in seven US women suffer from breast cancer. In 2019, an estimated 268,600 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Think about those numbers: One in seven and nearly 270,000 women diagnosed with invasive cancer—THIS YEAR!   Those numbers are unacceptable, or at least they should be! What are the Powers-That-Be doing to stem this tide? The answer: They are too busy diagnosing and treating and are not properly searching for the underlying cause of why too many US women suffer with breast cancer. We are exposed to too many synthetic hormones which can disrupt the normal hormonal milieu. Women are prescribed synthetic hormones in birth control pills and conventional hormonal replacement therapy which have been conclusively shown to increase the risk for breast cancer. Iodine deficiency is one of the main reasons we are seeing so much breast cancer. I have been writing and lecturing about iodine for almost 20 years. Iodine levels in the US have fallen over 50% during the last 40 years while at the same time breast cancer rates have risen to epidemic levels.

Study: U.S. Women of Reproductive Age Iodine Deficient

Researchers from Texas Women’s University just released a 2019 article titled, “A Review of Iodine Status of Women of Reproductive Age in the USA.” The authors summarized the studies that assessed iodine status of women of reproductive age in the USA. The authors state: “Despite the USA being considered iodine sufficient for the general population, the US dietary iodine intakes have decreased drastically since the 1970s, with iodine deficiency reemerging in vulnerable groups such as women of reproductive age. …a majority of the articles reviewed demonstrate emergent iodine deficiency in this population of women of reproductive age, indicating alarm for a public health concern needing immediate attention.” Iodine is an essential element that we cannot live without. Every cell in the body needs and requires iodine to function optimally. The most vulnerable population for iodine deficiency are women of child-bearing age. Iodine deficiency during pregnancy can cause permanently lowered IQ in children along with a host of neurologic and endocrine problems including mental retardation, autism, ADHD and thyroid problems.

Low Iodine In Women Before Pregnancy Associated with Lower IQ in their Children

I have been practicing holistic medicine for nearly 25 years. Among all the items I have found successful, one stands head and shoulders above rest: iodine. Iodine is one of the most fascinating essential elements. After checking thousands of patients (along with my partners), I can state with confidence that the vast majority of our population is iodine-deficient. Sadly, most are severely iodine deficient. The consequences of iodine deficiency are severe and include cancer and diseases of the glandular tissues including the breast, ovary, uterus, prostate, pancreas, and thyroid. Iodine is also necessary for a fetus to develop normally. It is well-known and accepted that iodine deficiency in a pregnant woman can result in a lowered IQ in her child. Researchers in England examined the relationship between maternal preconception (before the child is conceived) iodine status and their offspring’s cognitive function (IQ level) at age 6-7 years.
