Michigan Doctor Raided by FBI and Arrested for Treating COVID19 Patients with Vitamin C

As we have previously reported here at Health Impact News, doctors all across the world have seen great success in treating COVID-19 patients with high-dose intravenous Vitamin C therapy. When we first reported on doctors doing this in China just after the Wuhan outbreak, Facebook tagged us as "Fake News" and took away our ability to advertise and boost any of our articles. Since that time, we have reported on how many doctors and hospitals here in the U.S. have also successfully used the treatment. Now, a doctor in Michigan has actually had his clinic raided by the FBI and arrested being accused of "committing health care fraud and conspiracy to commit health care fraud" because he treated his patients with Vitamin C.

Coronavirus Patients in China to be Treated with High-Dose Vitamin C in New Clinical Trial

Breaking news: China is conducting a clinical trial of 24,000 mg/day of intravenous vitamin C to treat patients with coronavirus and severe respiratory complications. Participants will receive IV vitamin C for 7 days straight at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. Honor and thanks are due to Zhiyong Peng, MD, for making this happen. He is chief physician and professor at the hospital, which is close to ground zero for coronavirus. At Zhongnan Hospital in Wuhan, China, 24,000 mg of vitamin C will be administered to coronavirus patients, intravenously, each day for 7 days. To fight a dangerous virus for which there is no existing medical treatment, you must rely on your own immune system. It is well established, in every nutrition textbook ever written, that you need vitamin C to make your immune system work well, or to even work at all. Inadequate vitamin C intake is a worldwide problem that can be immediately and economically fixed. With even modest amounts of supplemental vitamin C, deaths will decrease. In one study, a mere 200 mg of vitamin C/day resulted in an 80% decrease in deaths among severely ill, hospitalized respiratory disease patients

FDA-Created Monopoly on IV Vitamin C Threatens Consumer Access to Popular Therapy

In 2017, McGuff Pharmaceuticals received FDA approval for an intravenous vitamin C (IVC) product for the treatment of scurvy, and thus market exclusivity. The FDA notified other manufacturers of IVC that they must stop producing it, giving them a one-year grace period that has now expired. McGuff has subsequently raised the price of IVC. The FDA-created monopoly on IVC will hurt patients. This is a medicine that is ubiquitous in integrative medicine practices as a key ingredient in Myers’ Cocktails, chelation, and cancer IVs. IVC is not normally covered by insurance, so patients need to pay out of pocket. Intravenous administration of nutrients is crucial, as it allows patients to achieve serum concentrations of nutrients that are not obtainable through oral administration. For example, vitamin C’s antiviral effect has been demonstrated to occur at 10-15 mG/dL, a level that can only be achieved intravenously. Cancer patients require multiple vials in a single session and can have multiple sessions per week. IVC is also a potent antiviral, so these patients will also have to pay a premium or simply go without it. Like CBD, the case of IVC is a prime example of the crony medical system—a cheap, safe, and effective natural medicine widely available to consumers is once again turned into an expensive monopoly drug. We must demand that the FDA not enforce market exclusivity for McGuff’s IVC product.

Mega Vitamin C IV Therapy Being Used to Cure Sepsis and Flu Infections While Mainstream Medicine Opposes It

There's a doctor in Virginia who is trying to promote IV mega-dose vitamin C for intensive care units (ICU) by lecturing to ICU doctors throughout the nation. Dr. Paul Marik was the head of the Norfolk General Hospital's ICU. In January of 2016, out of desperation, he decided to try IV mega-dose vitamin C on a middle-aged woman dying from septic shock in his unit. His IV “cocktail” consisted of vitamin C, thiamine (vitamin B1), and hydrocortisone. Her turn-around and recovery were so unexpectedly rapid and complete that he continued using that cocktail for sepsis victims with a very high success rate. Septic shock is a common occurrence in ICUs, but can occur elsewhere and from different triggers. The mortality rate of septic shock victims is around 50 percent, but the numbers are more surprising. According to IV vitamin C advocate, Dr. Alpha "Berry" Fowler, an ICU head in another hospital, sepsis cases result in septic shock and 826 deaths per day in the USA. As usual, there’s resistance to Dr. Marik’s proselytizing for IV mega-dose vitamin C use on septic shock victims and Dr. Fowler’s research efforts to prove its efficacy and safety, ranging from conservative and official to disrespectful and vitriolic. One of the very few MDs who courageously applied Dr. Marik’s cocktails for sepsis to ICU patients successfully was compelled to quit when hospital surgeons raised concerns over the treatment.
