Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark report that they have identified and mapped 500 previously unknown microorganisms and more than 800 bacterial viruses in our intestinal flora. Researching gut flora and the "microbiome" is the new trend in research and medicine, as the age of antibiotics has passed. New antibiotic-resistant diseases present an enormous threat to global health. If you are not familiar with the term "microbiome", you soon will be.
