Why I don’t Vaccinate My Dogs At All

Our dogs are in the midst of an epidemic. It’s not an epidemic of viral disease, but of chronic ill health. They’re besieged with itchy, pus-laden, scabby skin; vomit and diarrhoea are the norm. One in every hundred dogs suffers from epilepsy, and an even higher number lives with painful arthritis. Allergies are also reaching epidemic proportions: dogs are becoming allergic to life. According to Dr Jean W Dodds, an eminent vet and researcher, both allergic and autoimmune diseases have been rising since the introduction of modified live virus vaccines.

Getting Coconut Oil into Dog and Cat Food

Coconut oil is well known for being rich in health benefits for people, but this product is also highly beneficial for dogs and cats as well, and for pretty much all of the same reasons it’s great for humans. Incorporating coconut oil into cats' and dogs’ lives both topically and internally will undoubtedly lead to dramatic improvements in their overall health. My 10-year-old German Shepherd was raised on coconut oil and a raw food diet and he is the marvel of veterinarians today.

Study: Essential Oils and Coconut Oil Effective For Skin Disorders on Dogs

The results of research published in April 2014 in the Journal of Medical Mycology demonstrated the benefits of using essential oils for treating Malassezia dermatitis. The researchers treated 20 dogs with dermatitis caused by Malassezia pachydermatis. They used a blend of essential oils containing a mixture of bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) 1%, lavender (Lavandula officinalis) 1%, oregano (Origanum vulgare) 0.5%, marjoram (Origanum majorana) 0.5%, peppermint (Mentha piperita) 0.5% and Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum var. italicum) 0.5%. These essential oils were mixed into a base of sweet almond oil and coconut oil. The essential oil blend that they tested was a safe and natural solution to a common problem, which offered an important alternative to conventional pharmaceutical treatments.

Rabies Vaccine Dropped from the Sky

There are only 2-4 human rabies cases in the US each year, but annual prevention costs are more than $300 million. The Texas Department of Health is using helicopters to spread 100,000 rabies vaccines for skunks in the wilderness; other states have also conducted similar vaccination efforts. No one knows if such programs are effective or if the indiscriminate spreading of a pharmaceutical product into the environment is going to have any unforeseen consequences to wildlife or the surrounding ecosystem.

Owning a Dog Is Linked to Reduced Heart Risk

According to a new statement released by the American Heart Association (AHA), owning a pet, particularly a dog, may reduce your risk of heart disease. The conclusion came following a review of dozens of studies that showed pet owners were in better health than non-pet owners.

My wife and I adopted a 7-year-old wheaten terrier last February from the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America (SCWTCA). She received little to no care for her six years with the original owner. As a result, both ears were so severely infected that she had both eardrums […]
