In modern times the broad category of “energy healing” is not very well-known in western culture, which has built a medical system dependent on chemically-based pharmaceutical products.
In many cultures, however, various forms of energy healing have existed for thousands of years. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), for example, the science of acupuncture has been known and practiced for thousands of years, and it is also one form of energy medicine known and practiced in western countries today like the U.S.
One can even state that the greatest energy healer of all time, Jesus Christ, practiced the purest form of energy healing over 2000 years ago. And his cure rate was 100% – far better than the modern pharmaceutical-based medical system, or even other energy healing modalities. (See: The True Source of Energy Healing for more info.)
In general, energy healing can be very effective without all the toxic side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
One form of energy healing that is becoming increasingly more popular in the United States is Pulsed Electromagnetic Healing.
Most would acknowledge that the rebel scientist Raymond Royal Rife began much of the research and practice in this field in the 1930s, with some amazing results, such as curing cancer.
This made him an outcast, of course, as even today “researching a cure for cancer” is a hundred billion dollar plus industry that would disappear if it was acknowledged that there actually are cures for cancer, and the pharmaceutical cartel cannot allow that to happen. It would literally destroy the U.S. economy.
I have asked reporter Paul Fassa to cover a bit of the history behind Pulsed Electromagnetic Healing and to survey a bit of the current market choices available to the consumer.
What we can NOT do is recommend one device or therapy above the other. We are mostly limited to published data, testimonials, and claims made online, much of it contradictory.
When viewing marketing material and testimonials from such devices or therapies, one should be wary of claims such as “this is the ONLY device/therapy on the market affecting health and healing in this area.”
In fact, the consumer has many choices.
Dr. William Pawluk, M.D., M.Sc., who has a website educating people on Pulsed Electromagnetic Healing, probably states it best when he writes:
There are a variety of PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) systems available because there is no one “best” system. Only when we understand what health issues are of greatest concern to an individual can we begin to determine which system is most likely to achieve the desired results. (Source.)

One of the first effective electronic healing frequency technologies was discovered and developed by maverick genius scientist and inventor Raymond Royal Rife during the 1930s, who is credited by many as the main source from which further developments of current PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) devices have been developed today for health applications.
The topic of Rife and PEMF devices today is confused by conflicted, biased, and complicated information. This article intends to help create a better understanding of energy healing while surveying some of the product choices currently available.
Glossary of Some Technical Terms
A few basic terms you will come across while researching modern Rife type or PEMF devices are Gauss and Oersted.
Both are measurements of magnetic field intensity along with Teslas (T).
Hertz is a measure of frequency, which is important for addressing the resonant frequency of various microbes and cancer cells.
Plasma-tubes are gas-filled vacuum tubes that some claim transmit PEMF energy most efficiently. Plasma-tubes are the type of tube Rife had used originally.
Frequency generators are the creators of PEMF energy that plasma tubes, mats with electrodes or other contact devices deliver.
MOPA stands for master oscillator power amplifier.
MOR (mortal oscillatory rate) is the resonant frequency rate that will destroy a pathogenic microbe or cancer cell. The transmission of a specified low-frequency rate electrical energy is used to create a sympathetic oscillation on targeted microbes.

The Original Rife Machine
Raymond Royal Rife
Raymond Royal Rife created a machine that could zap microbes with low-level radio wave emissions after determining their resonant frequencies.
In order to observe even the tiniest virus, he had invented a complex microscope, called the Universal Microscope, which enabled him to view viruses with normal light while they were alive. At the time, current electron microscopes in use would kill the microbes while simply viewing them due to sample preparation. His Universal Microscope allowed him to view the microbes while still alive.
Rife would reportedly observe the exact frequency of a microbe that created a responding resonant frequency that would result in the microbe’s disintegration, which he called the mortal oscillatory rate (MOR).
This term is still used today.
Rife had to determine the various radio frequencies that would replicate the destructive frequencies of many microbes. He allegedly succeeded with many, represented here.
After several proven successes, the American Medical Association’s brutal harassment of Dr. Rife, a partner’s betrayal, his beloved wife’s death and the sudden death of a supportive prestigious medical professor, Dr. Rife was emotionally crushed and reportedly became addicted to alcohol and valium.
The world was not ready for his technology, and he was obviously a threat to the blossoming pharmaceutical industry making millions on cancer research.
He passed away at the age of 83.

Current Rife and PEMF Guide Books
Rife technology focuses on eliminating microbes or unhealthy cancerous cells. Each time Rife discovered the resonating frequency or MOR of a viral or bacterial microbe, he recorded it.
Some experts advise getting the book, The Rife Handbook of Frequency Therapy and Holistic Health, a 760-page book by Nenah Sylver, Ph.D., before committing to a modern-day Rife machine with costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000.
This book is considered the bible of Rife technology. Due to its limited audience potential and the amount of research and work it took to put it together, it’s pricey, usually around $150, but it is available at half the cost as an e-book from the author’s website.
Today’s Pulse Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology focuses on the effects of pulsing magnetic energies to both eliminate pathogens and build up energy within your cells.
It oxygenates and alkalizes cells, even rejuvenating ATP levels for improved cellular metabolism and anti-aging.

Bryant A. Meyers is the author of a book titled PEMF – The Fifth Element of Health: Learn Why Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy Supercharges Your Health Like Nothing Else!
Meyers claims that “he spent over 18 years researching, testing and investigating over $500,000 worth of energy medicine and equipment and studied with many of the world’s experts.” Find out more about his book on his website here.
Meyers markets a particular PEMF system through a network marketing company, which may (or may not) make him a biased source of information.

They also promote a specific brand which may (or may not) make them a biased source of information.
Today’s Technology Applied to Rife Technology
The original Rife machines operated at radio frequencies (RF) ranging from a few kilohertz (KHz) to a few megahertz (MHz). Rife used adjustable lower frequency range waves to create various resonant frequencies on targets.
Those frequencies could be combined with 3.3 or 3.8 MHz radio frequencies that act as (1) carrier waves for the other (2) lower adjustable generated frequencies to match the resonant frequencies of pathogenic targets through the (3) final stage plasma lamp. These are the basic three stages of Rife Technology (Source.)
Modern PEMF machines typically use only the lower frequencies without high carrier wave frequencies and will usually require direct to body contact for PEMF transmissions. The focus is more on invigorating the body’s electrical energy while eliminating some pathogens.
PEMF machines are perhaps best known for eliminating pain and inflammation. As mentioned above, most PEMF machines oxygenate and alkalize cells, rejuvenating ATP levels for improved cellular metabolism. They are generally promoted as “immune boosting” systems, and not necessarily designed to treat specific diseases.
In the following video presentation, Marcus Freudenmann of trulyheal.com explains the difference between PEMF and Rife devices, then demonstrates a Rife procedure using the BCX Ultra device with plasma tubes.
Many in the energy healing realm admit that most Rife devices can be very beneficial, but they have different features, technical parameters, portability, and pricing.
They may not be simple “turn-key” devices that the average consumer can just purchase and immediately know how to use effectively without training and research.
Customer service is very important for beginners, and such service may be absent, as the market suggests some prior knowledge and research. Finding a pracitioner using Rife types of machines for healing might be the best place to start, but in the U.S. one is not allowed to make any disease curing claims for anything outside the realm of the FDA and pharmaceutical industry.
Therefore, most suppliers cater to the DIY types wishing to take advantage of the technology.
The following list contains links to various Rife devices that use RF carrier waves and plasma lamps that is representative (but not exhaustive) of what is available on the market.
Plasma lamps radiate the energy at some distance to allow movement instead of being immobilized with direct contact equipment.
But some come without the plasma lamp and advise which type to buy.

Rife on the Cheap: Hulda Clark Zappers

Dr. Hulda Clark, Ph.D., became well-known in the 1990s through the publishing of her best-selling book: The Cure for All Diseases.
Dr. Clark’s theory (and practice) was that parasites were at the root of almost all modern diseases, and she used Rife research to develop a “zapper” that would kill most parasites with certain energy frequencies. She also promoted an herbal cleanse to rid the body of parasites.
Hulda Clark zappers usually consist of a box to set frequencies, connected to metal electrodes that one holds in each hand.
She had a thriving practice of healing people in the U.S., but because she was not a licensed medical doctor she was forced to move her practice to Tijuana Mexico, where she died in 2009.
There are many variations of her zapper available in the market today, ranging in price from a few dollars (including DIY plans to make your own) to several hundred dollars for more advanced ones offering more frequencies and features.
User Friendly PEMF Devices Available in North America
Unlike Rife devices, there are no RF (radio frequency) carriers used for most PEMF devices, and there are no plasma lamps involved with PEMF devices.
Instead, mats, pads, foot plates, belts and straps with electrodes are usually applied to different areas of the body. What is generated and transmitted through the electrodes are well within the audio range, 20 to 20,000 Hertz (Hz).
As noted earlier, these devices are not generally targeting specific diseases or microbes. Better sleep, stronger immune systems, faster healing, better circulation, increased cellular oxygen, and pain relief are some of the reported results gained by energizing the body’s cells with pulsed electromagnetic frequencies in the lower audio range.
Of course this more “holistic” approach can indeed result in healing specific diseases, as the numerous testimonials testify.
These PEMF devices are becoming more popular in the consumer market, with many of them being distributed through network or multi-level marketing (MLM) companies.
Here is a list that is representative (but not exhaustive) of some of the currently popular PEMF devices. The numbers do not reflect a rating system.
iMRS2000
(1) The IMRS2000 is among the top sellers in North America.
It has a biofeedback system:

The iMRS cost is reported to be around the $3000.00 to $5000.00 range.

The Bemer Pro.
(2) The BEMER has surged to rival iMRS2000 popularity even with slightly higher prices. Its device pricing ranges from $4,000 to $6,000 depending on which package you select, classic or pro. This manufacturer/distributor also offers PEMF application equipment for horses.

(3) The OMI (pronounced oh-my) promotes their product as the least expensive PEMF products with prices ranging from $1250 to $1750. They claim to offer lower prices because of a deal for direct purchases of their mats with PEMF generators from European manufacturers and the fact that they are not multi-level with large commissions.
There is a price boost for their horse application contact equipment. They compare their product to other similar products with this chart.

(4) The Magnesphere is “a whole body immersion system that utilizes very precise, extremely low level electromagnetic fields (EMF) to enhance feelings of relaxation.”
Unlike the other devices listed above, this one has no physical contact with the user. One sits in a chair between two large tesla coils receiving electromagnetic energy waves for 1 hour sessions.
The magnesphere reportedly uses the same science that is behind Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). It is reportedly based on over 25 years of research by Dr. Jerry Jacobson.
The company markets the system mainly through spas, clinics, etc., although it has a home version for about $6000.00 and a monthly subscription of $80 to receive treatments.
(5) The PMT 100-120 PEMF device is ideal for health practitioners, according to Marcus Freudenmann’s video presentation above where he said no clinic should be without one.
It is actually intended only for medical practitioners who are given on-site training and certification. Marcus thinks this device is as good as it can get. Its high price, $21,000 plus, warrants financing or leasing.
Conclusion: Energy Healing is Here to Stay
The consumer has many choices today when seeking out services or products using Pulsed Electromagnetic Healing.
Much of it is very effective, but the choices are so wide-ranging that one has to do their own research to find the system or service that is best for their particular needs, and that fits within their budget.
