The U.S. military’s “Doomsday Plane” was spotted in Central California in the past few days, around Fresno. Meanwhile, the FBI warned police departments in California in recent days that Iran could retaliate for American attacks by launching drones at the West Coast, according to an alert reviewed by ABC News.

‘Doomsday’ plane again spotted flying low over California — as Iran tensions rocket

The ominous “Doomsday” plane has been spotted flying over California — for the second time in two months.

The huge Boeing E-6B Mercury, which is the president’s emergency operations hub if nuclear war breaks out, coasted over Fresno over the weekend.

Airport bosses said it was conducting approaches at the site and spent two hours doing mock landings, leaving onlookers stunned.

The aircraft serves as a nuclear control platform and strategic command post. If the plane had to execute its mission, the US could be heading for a nuclear war.

The platform can control bombers, missiles and ballistic missile submarines. It can remain airborne for up to 12 hours without refueling and is capable of refueling mid-flight to extend missions even longer.

It is built to maintain global communications and operate even if ground command centers are disabled, essentially functioning as a mobile Pentagon in the sky.

FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert

From ABC News:

The FBI warned police departments in California in recent days that Iran could retaliate for American attacks by launching drones at the West Coast, according to an alert reviewed by ABC News.

“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran,” according to the alert distributed at the end of February.

“We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.”

The fact that this recent sighting of the “Doomsday” plane was near Fresno, which is in the Central Valley of California at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, makes sense because any likely attack from Iran or anyone else would likely target the huge military bases in California up and down the Pacific Coast, from San Diego up through San Francisco, which would be the most likely places Iran would strike.

Fresno, which is far from the coast and next to the Sierra Nevada mountains, would be a likely immediate destination point for such a plane.

The base in Port Hueneme, near Oxnard in Ventura County just north of LA, for example, allegedly has nuclear missiles that can be launched from under water.

If the war continues to go badly for the U.S. and Israel, and if Israel invokes the “The Samson Option”, and uses nuclear bombs to strike first, my guess is that the military bases on the West Coast of California would become immediate targets of Iran. See:
