During Donald Trump’s first presidency, he invoked the PREP Act to release $trillions to fund one the largest military campaigns in U.S. history, the “War Against the Unseen Enemy” and Operation Warp Speed, to allegedly fight against the corona virus, giving $billions to the pharmaceutical companies to rush untested vaccines and other products into the market which resulted in millions of Americans being killed, injured, and crippled for life.

Many small businesses were destroyed as a result, but the economy was temporarily saved from a total collapse with the infusion of $trillions under the CARES Act.

Now the American people, primarily Evangelical Zionist Conservative Christians, have returned Trump to power and the President-elect is preparing a new war against the American people as the U.S. economy now stands on the brink of collapse.

It was announced earlier today that President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to declare a “National Economic Emergency” to provide legal justification to implement across the board tariffs on all goods imported into the United States.

Trump is considering a national economic emergency declaration to allow for new tariff program

President-elect Donald Trump is considering declaring a national economic emergency to provide legal justification for a large swath of universal tariffs on allies and adversaries, four sources familiar with the matter told CNN, as Trump seeks to reset the global balance of trade in his second term.

The declaration would allow Trump to construct a new tariff program by using the International Economic Emergency Powers Act, known as “IEEPA,” which unilaterally authorizes a president to manage imports during a national emergency.

Trump, one of the sources noted, has a fondness for this law, since it grants wide-ranging jurisdiction over how tariffs are implemented without strict requirements to prove the tariffs are needed on national security grounds.

“Nothing is off the table,” said a second source familiar with the matter, acknowledging the robust discussion over declaring a national emergency that has taken place. (Source.)

President-elect Trump and his sidekick billionaire Elon Musk have been warning about an economic collapse for months now, heading into the 2024 November elections.

Wall Street and others, myself included, did not believe that Trump would be crazy enough to actually do something like this, to willingly and purposefully destroy the U.S. economy, and that it was all campaign rhetoric.

On Monday this week (January 6, 2025), a Washington Post article came to the same conclusion, stating that the tariffs would not be across the board and applying to EVERY SINGLE ITEM that is imported into the U.S., but would instead be targeted tariffs in some industries.

But Trump was very quick to deny this, calling it “fake news” and that he was, indeed, planning to implement across the board tariffs an ALL GOODS imported into the U.S.

Trump denies report that his team is eyeing pared-back tariffs

WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday denied a newspaper report that said his aides were exploring tariff plans that would only cover critical imports, deepening uncertainty among business leaders about future U.S. trade policies.

Trump responded on his Truth Social platform after the Washington Post cited three sources familiar with the matter as saying that Trump aides were exploring a narrower approach to tariffs, focused on certain critical sectors.

“The story in the Washington Post, quoting so-called anonymous sources, which don’t exist, incorrectly states that my tariff policy will be pared back. That is wrong. The Washington Post knows it’s wrong. It’s just another example of Fake News,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

The Washington Post had reported that Trump aides were exploring tariff plans that would be applied to every country but only cover certain sectors deemed critical to national or economic security, in what would have represented a marked shift from promises Trump made during the 2024 presidential campaign. (Source.)

Many have speculated as to whether Trump even has the power to implement such broad tariffs that will most certainly collapse the U.S. economy, but with the announcement today that he was preparing to take the same path he took with Operation Warp Speed, by invoking emergency powers, it seems more likely that this is, in fact, going to happen.

It also occurs at the same time that Trump is now threatening to use the U.S. military to invade and take over other countries for “national security”, which includes Panama and the Panama Canal, Greenland, and even possibly Canada.

This is a War Against the American People and Small Businesses – Healthy Traditions Online Store’s 23-Year History at Risk of Failing

Most Americans, especially the MAGA crowd, have no idea what is about to happen to the U.S. economy, and how radically their lives are about change under an unhinged Trump 2nd term as a lame-duck President who does not have to worry about being re-elected anymore.

Goods at stores like Walmart, the largest retail store in the U.S. and even the world, will see drastic price increases as most all of their goods are imported from China, where Trump is threatening a 60% tariff, which could cause most products to double in price.

In an article published by The Information the day after the elections titled: What Trump Could Do First in AI, China and Chips, they reported on a teleconference and provided a partial transcript of the call among tech “policy experts” regarding the implications for steep tariffs against China.

One of the questions discussed was: China is a huge market for Apple, and a lot of manufacturing happens in Taiwan and the region. Who are the winners and losers from the next administration in terms of trade?

William Reinsch, a chair in international business at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) stated the following:

Reinsch: It’s hard to say. To the extent that consumer electronics are being imported from China, which I think is a lot, the 60% tariff, if it’s imposed, is going to seriously affect that.

It may not make them uncompetitive, because there may not be viable competitors elsewhere for some of the things in question, but at a minimum, it’ll make the products much more expensive for consumers.

Because unlike what Trump says, these tariffs get passed on. They don’t get swallowed in whole by the manufacturer.

So I think it’s not good news for CTA [the Consumer Technology Association]. Trump’s response to that would be ‘good, then they’ll start manufacturing the United States.’

Maybe that will happen, but that takes a while, because you’re talking about restoring capabilities that are long gone.

A while back, Trump criticized GE for selling its appliance unit to the Chinese, saying ‘we don’t make those things anymore. We should make them in the United States.’

Well, one of our think tank colleagues here in Washington did a paper and said, ‘you want a toaster that’s made in America? It’s $300.’

We are not a low cost manufacturer of a lot of the stuff we’re talking about.

You want to make laptops in the United States? They’re going to be more expensive.

Are people going to buy them because they’re made here?

If you do polling on this question, people will say, in significant percentages, they support Buy America, they support domestic procurement, and then they go to Walmart and buy imports.

There’s a lot of cognitive dissonance in the consumer market. (Source.)

Are Americans ready for $300 toasters?

Here is what Charles Hugh Smith has written in the past about the difficulty for America to build “cheap” electronics such as toasters:

Consider the supposedly low-tech kitchen counter toaster. These are cheap, so they must be easy to make, right?

Wrong. They’re impossible to make without a highly sophisticated industrial supply chain.

Thomas Thwaites attempted to make a toaster from scratch and found it was impossible to do so. He described the experience in his book, The Toaster Project: Or a Heroic Attempt to Build a Simple Electric Appliance from Scratch.

Even the simple kitchen toaster requires highly specialized materials from a handful of sources. There is nothing low-tech about the specialty wires, ceramics, etc. needed to manufacture or repair a “simple” toaster. (Source.)

And while many may claim that they can live their lives without toasters if inflation really took off due to tariffs, take a look at the food in your kitchen that you buy every week at the grocery store. Chances are that a high percentage of the food you purchase each week at grocery stores are imported foods.

This would include a lot of meats that are imported from Canada, China and Australia, as well as food that is not produced in the U.S. and can NOT be produced in the U.S.

Foods that are not produced in the U.S. and are only imported would include bananas, coffee, tea, chocolate, most popular fruits that come from Mexico, and of course coconut oil, the main product I have sold online for over 23 years now, produced in the Philippines and shipped to the U.S. from China-originated shipping lines to the ports in California.

Even with many foods that ARE produced in the U.S., without imports the demands for those foods will greatly increase and drive up prices, as the U.S. currently imports about $200 BILLION worth of foods a year.

Besides many popular foods in your kitchen that are not produced in the U.S., there are many other products that are also not currently being produced in the U.S. that are used by Americans every day, from the clothes you wear to the light bulbs in your home, as almost all of these are imported, and will soon become very expensive due to this new war on Americans Trump is threatening to start.

War on Mexican Heirloom Corn and Forced GMO Corn

Traditional varieties of Mexican Heirloom corn are in danger due to American GMO corn cross-contamination.

While there are imported foods that also have large crops growing in the U.S., many of those products have been contaminated in the U.S. due to commercial agriculture, and the proliferation of GMO crops, and crops contaminated with glyphosate, the largest toxic herbicide in the world.

China, in general, does not import corn from the U.S. anymore, due to the contamination of U.S. GMO corn. Most of their import of corn has now switched to Brazil.

In my own company, Healthy Traditions, we have tried to source U.S. corn that is not contaminated with genetically modified DNA for ten years now, unsuccessfully.

We have tested MANY organic varieties of corn grown in the U.S. during the last decade, and to date ALL of them have tested positive for the presence of genetically modified DNA, due to cross contamination from the GMO crops, which make up more than 90% of the U.S. corn crop.

We have had to import our corn from Mexico, where certain provinces have banned GMO corn.

This past year (2024) Mexico tried to ban the import of all U.S. GMO corn into Mexico, to protect their native, heirloom varieties.

But because they are part of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), they were overruled and forced to continue importing GMO contaminated corn from the U.S.

Mexico loses GM corn trade dispute with US

A three-member USMCA dispute resolution panel has handed Mexico a big defeat by ruling against the country’s restrictions on genetically modified (GM) corn imports, citing a lack of scientific basis for the measures.

The panel found that Mexico’s policies were in violation of its obligations under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), most notably in regard to market access.

The U.S. Trade Representative’s (USTR) office said the panel ruled in favor of all seven U.S. legal claims in the long-running case, “handing the Biden administration a major trade victory in its final weeks,” according to Reuters.

Announced on Friday, the decision comes after years of escalating tensions since Mexico’s initial 2021 decree to phase out GM corn for human consumption — starting with bans against the use of GM corn in tortillas and dough, with a possible future ban on GM corn for livestock, as well.

Mexico has been importing GM corn from the U.S. for years, buying about US $3 billion worth annually. That corn is mainly used to feed livestock.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) notes that more than 90% of corn in the U.S. is produced using genetically engineered varieties, according to a fact sheet produced by the Washington, D.C.-based Wilson Center.

In general, genetic modifications made to plants introduce traits such as resistance to pests, tolerance to herbicides such as Roundup, better nutritional content or faster growth.

While genetically modified organisms (GMOs) remain a subject of debate, the widely used but controversial herbicide Roundup has been classified as a “probable carcinogen,” by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The USTR hailed last week’s ruling, stating it upheld USMCA principles and protected U.S. farmers — as Mexico is the largest market for U.S. corn exports.

According to the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS), an agency within the USDA, Mexico imported US $4.25 billion of corn from the U.S. from January through September of this year, a period in which U.S. corn exports totaled US $10.76 billion.

Mexico’s Ministry of Economy said in a statement on Friday that it does not agree with the ruling, but “will respect the determination, since the USMCA dispute resolution system is a key part of the treaty.”

The ministry’s statement stressed that Mexico’s GMO measures were designed “to protect public health and Indigenous rights.” (Source.)

Healthy Traditions Update for 2025

In this next section I am providing a 2025 update for my online store, Healthy Traditions.

Mexican Corn

For the past many years we have been purchasing Mexican corn from a province in Central Mexico that bans GMO corn. They had a poor harvest at the end of 2023, forcing us to switch from our Mexican white corn heirloom variety to a poly blue corn variety that tested clean for GMOs and glyphosate.

Most of that corn is now gone, although we do have some inventory left.

Fortunately, we found a new supplier at the end of 2024, which carries traditional varieties of Mexican corn from small-scale family farmers in Mexico, and after testing their corn, we purchased many tons that should last us through most of 2025, and this corn is already in the U.S. and heading to our Texas warehouse this week as I write this.

So we beat the Trump tariffs on this one.

This corn is more expensive than our previous Mexican corn, but it is also a much higher quality corn as well.

Here is our new product announcement on this very unique and special heirloom Mexican corn.

NEW!  Healthy Traditions Ground and Whole Corn Products made with Heirloom Cónico Cremoso Corn Grown in Mexico!

Our new supplier of Heirloom Mexican corn this year is a cooperative from Mexico that sources Mexican heritage crops with a commitment to native small-scale family farmers in Mexico, with a commitment to the farmers, flavor, and biodiversity.

Their partner farmers cultivate a variety of heirloom corns that have been preserved through generations. They use agricultural systems that prioritize biodiversity, such as the milpa, to nurture these unique crops and the land.

Milpa is a field for growing food crops and a crop-growing system used throughout Mesoamerica, especially in the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico.

The word milpa derives from the Nahuatl words milli and pan. Based on the agronomy of the Maya and of other Mesoamerican peoples, the milpa system is used to produce crops of maize, beans, and squash without employing artificial pesticides and artificial fertilizers.

The land-conservation cycle of the milpa is two years of cultivation and eight years of laying fallow.

In the Mexican states of Jalisco and Michoacán and in central Mexico as well as Guanacaste Province Costa Rica, as an agricultural term milpa denotes a single corn plant.

The cooperative we work with cuts out intermediaries, and fosters long-term, trusting partnerships with farmers, their families, and their communities.

They buy the surplus heirloom corn from these farmers and their families, who grow these crops for their own consumption.

By working this way, they make sure to not deprive them of their sustenance and ancient food rites. They understand that these farmers are the stewards of Mexico’s biodiversity and their communities are life-supporting ecosystems unto themselves.

This cooperative actively listens, observes, and stands hand-in-hand with their partner farmers as they care for their land and their people.

They honor the cultural practices and rituals they’ve passed down through generations, and learn from these powerful preservationists every day.

They help farmers calculate their total production costs and then mutually agree on a price that covers these costs and enables a net profit.

On average, farmers within this network receive 43% of the final selling price.

Healthy Traditions has sourced a Cónico Cremoso (cream color) native variety of corn from San Felipe del Progreso from the State of Mexico, commonly known as Edomex (from Estado de México), to distinguish it from the name of the whole country.

For now, you can pre-order 35 lb. sealed pails of this whole corn, as well as 25 lb. bags of whole corn, and it should start shipping next week.

You can still order the blue corn tortilla chips fried in our own coconut oil and other corn products, and we should have the new cream corn chips and other products up and ready to order by the end of next week.

This corn per lb. is more expensive than our blue corn, but it is a much higher quality corn, and it is still priced lower per lb. than many U.S. certified organic corns that sometimes sell for 3x that much, and are probably contaminated with genetically modified DNA.

If there is sufficient demand for this product, we will try to purchase some more from this supplier before any new tariffs on Mexico kick in.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Chile

Our supplier of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Chile had a low harvest this year, but we were able to purchase the same amount as last year, although the price will be a bit higher.

It departed from Chile a few days ago, and we expect it to arrive at port by the end of January, or first week of February.

However, this has to go through the Panama Canal, so any disruptions there due to Trump’s threats and potential actions could delay that, and it is possible new tariffs might be in place with this new Economic Emergency Order he is planning on implementing after his inauguration.

We are out of stock on the larger 1 liter bottles at this time, but still have a small supply left of the smaller half liter bottles.

Coconut Oil

As we announced in 2024, we have discontinued our USDA certified organic refined coconut oil products due to us discontinuing to participate in the corrupt USDA NOP (National Organic Program.) See:

Big Food has Taken Over the USDA National Organic Program – Why I am no Longer Importing Certified Organic Food

Our Pure Coconut Oil product is from the same supplier with the same coconut oil, but just not certified organic.

We have fairly good supplies right now of our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil, although the quart jars are currently out of stock due to a supply issue we had with the glass jars.

We have resolved this issue and should soon have these glass quarts back in stock, for both the Pure Coconut Oil and the Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.

The Philippines was hit with some major typhoons late in 2024, and current cost of coconuts there is about 30% higher than what we normally pay.

And if Trump implements tariffs, the price will go even higher later this year.

Wild Honey from Rain Forests and Andes Mountains in Chile

We currently have good supplies of our wild honey from Chile, although we are in the process of placing a new order. Like our olive oil, since this is shipped from Chile it is subject to disruption in the Panama Canal, as well as any tariffs that may soon be in place.

As a reminder, most of the American honey supply is contaminated with glyphosate, due to bees being used in commercial agriculture to pollinate crops. We used to have a place in remote British Columbia, Canada, where the honey used to test clean for glyphosate.

But that has not been the case for the past few years, and now the only place in the world where we can find wild honey that tests clean for glyphosate, is in the pristine rain forests of Chile, and high up in the Chilean Andes Mountains.

Ancient Grains

While we used to import almost all of our ancient grains from Italy, we have been successful in finding a few places in the North America where heirloom ancient grains are grown and test clean of glyphosate.

So this is the one product line that is in the best shape today, and we purchased our own mill in 2024 to make our new Ancient Grain All-Purpose Flours.

We are well-stocked on whole grains packaged in 5-gallon sealed pails as well, which can be stored indefinitely for long-term food storage.

Are Food Shortages and Hyperinflation Inevitable in 2025?

I honestly do not know if Healthy Traditions will survive this new war Trump is starting, and that goes for a lot of other small businesses in the U.S. that rely on imports.

If there is a run on food in grocery stores such as what we saw in 2020 during Trump’s first war on the “unseen virus”, we would have to discontinue any discounts or free shipping offers just to slow down the sales to ensure we still have ample supplies for our own families, as well as our local Resellers and Distributors.

We would also stop accepting new applicants for wholesale accounts to be Resellers and Distributors, so we can serve the current ones, as we did in 2020 during the COVID Scam under Trump.

And if the Internet or the power grid becomes unstable, of course it will become very difficult to order our products.

See if there are any local Resellers and Distributors near you in the case you cannot order our products over the Internet, or consider becoming one yourself while we are still taking applications.

What is the End Goal in Destroying the U.S. Economy?

The end goal in going to war against Americans and destroying the U.S. economy is probably to reset our financial system.

If the economy collapses and we see anything similar to the Great Depression of the 1930s, expect to see the U.S. Government step in and offer people a way to cash out their bank accounts into new digital currencies, and total government control over their lives.

We are sitting on perhaps the largest stock market bubble in U.S. history, and an insurmountable national debt, without many other options at this point.

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. (Proverbs 22:3)
