In one of my editions of SWAMP WATCH last week, I reported that Florida Representative Matt Gaetz was appointed to be the next U.S. Attorney General, and that he resigned from Congress the same day, which meant that an ethics report regarding his sexual conduct with minors that was due to be published in the House would no longer be published, because he resigned from Congress.

Gaetz was also previously being investigated by the Department of Justice for the same thing, so Gaetz, if appointed, would oversee the very agency, the DOJ, that was investigating him.

I had a couple of angry MAGA people email me, claiming that Gaetz was innocent and the victim of his enemies regarding such allegations, and criticizing me for publishing this.

A reader named George Lichti emailed and wrote:

My reason for writing you is your assertions about Gaetz.

Nowhere is there a hint of child sex trafficking. His enemies have trotted out a dubious “victim” to destroy him. He is an outsider and well hated by establishment/ UNI-party RINOs. If there was anything solid that had “meat” on it, it would have been used or “leaked” by now.

Please recall that God uses imperfect men to do His will. Even the man after His own heart – King David – committed far worse crimes than did a Trump, for example (and be clear Trumps “crimes” are dubious at best).

If we await the perfect man, we will be waiting until Jesus returns.

I always find it somewhat amusing when these MAGA cult members email me in a condescending tone, claiming that they know the “truth” while I am obviously ignorant of these matters.

Does George Lichti know Matt Gaetz personally? How does he know that Gaetz is innocent of these charges?

Others said similar things blaming these accusations on Gaetz’s “enemies.”

The thing is though, none of these people who chastised me mentioned the fact that Gaetz resigned from the House before this ethics committee report was released.

This begs the question, if he is so innocent and has nothing to hide, why didn’t he let the report come out and exonerate him before resigning?

If he is appointed as head of the DOJ, he won’t start work until January, after all.

This MAGA “reasoning” also ignores the fact that the House of Representatives is not made up of “liberal democrats” who hate Gaetz and are his enemies.

The House is controlled by Republicans, most of them full on board with the MAGA agenda, including Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, who has said that releasing the ethics report on Gaetz after he already resigned, would set a “dangerous precedent.”

“Dangerous” for whom?

Well, today it is being reported that Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene, who can hardly be labeled as an “enemy” of the MAGA movement, or even an enemy of Matt Gaetz, has joined in with other Republicans who think that not only should the ethics report on Gaetz be released, but that a whole lot of other things should be revealed to the public because “there’s other lawmakers with skeletons in their closet.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene: GOP Covered Up ‘Sexual Harassment and Assault’ Claims

Marjorie Taylor Greene made a sensational allegation that her Republican colleagues in Congress have covered up “sexual harassment and assault claims” by paying off victims with taxpayer money.

The MAGA diehard made the revelation as a growing number of GOP politicians have expressed reservations about Donald Trump’s choice to appoint the scandal-scarred ex-lawmaker Matt Gaetz to be his attorney general.

“For my Republican colleagues in the House and Senate,” she began. “If we are going to release ethics reports and rip apart our own that Trump has appointed, then put it ALL out there for the American people to see.”

Greene’s request would include the House ethics committee releasing the findings of its probe into the 42-year-old Gaetz, who was accused this week of paying two women for sex.

One of those women reportedly testified that they also witnessed the then-freshman Congressman have sex with a 17-year-old girl at a house party five years ago.

Greene said there’s other lawmakers with skeletons in their closet, but stopped short of calling them out by name.

CNN reported in 2017 that Congress paid an eye-popping $17 million to victims of sexual harassment and discrimination via the body’s Office of Compliance since its creation in the 1990s.

“All the ethics reports and claims, including the one I filed,” Greene said, listing the things she wants to be made public.

“All your sexual harassment and assault claims that were secretly settled paying off victims with tax payer money. The entire Jeffrey Epstein files, tapes, recordings, witness interviews.”

The Georgia firebrand ended with a commitment to make public as many purported claims as possible:

“If we’re going to dance, let’s all dance in the sunlight. I’ll make sure we do.” (Source.)

So how is the rest of the MAGA cult going to respond to this? Why did Greene say this?

Maybe the “evil, liberal, commie Democrats” got to her and paid her off! Or, maybe she was misquoted, and didn’t really mean what she said.

Gee, I don’t know. Maybe, possibly, it just could be that Majorie Taylor Greene, a woman who works in a man’s world among Conservative Republicans, wants to succeed on her own merits, rather than dropping her panties every time the Epstein boys come around and make advancements towards her.

Nah, that couldn’t be it…

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:9-13)
