Let me introduce you to my friend organic virgin coconut oil.  I am OBSESSED with this stuff.  (Does anyone remember the movie “My big fat greek wedding” where the dad thinks windex can fix/heal anything?  That’s me with coconut oil.)

This oil is like the oil among oils. It is a natural anti bacterial.  I use it for preventing stretch marks/fine lines/wrinkles. I use it to build up my immune system.  I use it as a body moisturizer.  I use it as a waterproof eye make-up remover.  I put it in smoothies (when I take it regularly my skin clears up and looks AMAZING). I warm it up and use it as a hot oil treatment on my hair.  I use it to moisturize my tattoos. I use it to help prevent, uh-em, “tearing” when giving birth.  Also, I read recently that it is good for pregnant women to take because it helps you lactate better (don’t know if that is true or not, but I am going to give it a go).

I think a lot of people shy away from this oil because of its high fat content (news flash… your body NEEDS good fats– otherwise you will put on fat!  Low fat diets do not work!)

But don’t take my word for it (seriously don’t… consult your doctor- preferably a doctor who is sympathetic to natural resources- and do some of your own research).

As far as the “beauty tip” goes– here is what I do:
Take about 3-4 tablespoons of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil.  Heat it up in a pan (or in the microwave- which is really bad, but I do it anyway).  Make sure it is not too hot that it will burn you or your hair.  Apply all over scalp and hair- roots to tips.  Leave on for 15-30 minutes.  Rinse, wash, repeat, and then condition (it takes a couple washes to get all the oil out).  I don’t do this treatment enough- but when I do my hair is in better condition.  Just a fore warning- this is MESSY, so be prepared.

So, there you have it, friends.  A little beauty tip from me to you.  : )
