California Dr. Bob Sears Exposes How Good Doctors Fear State Medical Board and SB 276 Regarding Vaccine Medical Exemptions

California pediatrician Dr. Bob Sears recently testified at the California State Assembly hearing considering SB 276, which would prevent doctors from writing medical exemptions to childhood vaccines without the approval of California State health officials, appointed by politicians. Dr. Sears pointed out that the passage of this bill would cause many doctors to stop writing medical exemptions for vaccines out of fear of what the California State Medical board may do to them, such as take away their license to practice medicine, or come under disciplinary action. Dr. Sears should know, because that is exactly what happened to him. A disgruntled spouse in a custody case who wanted to administer several vaccines over the objection the other parent reported Dr. Sears to the California State Medical Board, which proceeded to put Dr. Sears on probation. This was in spite of the fact that the judge over the custody case agreed with Dr. Sears that there were valid medical reasons to not fully vaccinate the infant in question, who was suffering neurological disorders. This action resulted in Dr. Sears having to pay over $20,000 a year in probation fees, and even though he has never had a single malpractice case, his malpractice insurance doubled, and he lost insurance contracts that allowed him to serve 500 military families, and now he can no longer provide service to these families.

California Pediatrician Bob Sears Breaks Silence on Medical Board Opposition to Vaccine Exemptions

Two years ago we covered the story about Dr. Bob Sears in California who faced discipline by the California state Medical Board after he wrote a medical exemption for vaccines on behalf of a 2-year-old patient who experienced adverse reactions from earlier vaccines. This action taken against Dr. Sears happened after the new law in California, SB277, went into effect removing religious and philosophical exemptions for vaccines. After the passage of SB277 in 2015, only a doctor can issue an exemption for vaccines for medical reasons. Dr. Bob Sears is internationally renown for his stance on parental rights and informed consent, and although he is not anti-vaccine, he does believe that a one-size-fits-all approach to vaccines is misguided, and that the medical needs of his patients need to be taken into consideration regarding vaccines and the spacing of vaccines. Therefore, the attack on Dr. Sears was generally seen as a political move in California to try and intimidate him and other doctors who write medical exemptions for vaccines for their patients, which is perfectly legal, even after the passage of SB277. California lawmakers are heavily lobbied and influenced by Big Pharma, which would like to see all vaccines mandated for everyone, regardless of medical conditions. Dr. Sears has broken his silence after 2 years, and he has revealed that there are several other cases the California Medical Board is looking into regarding his medical practice.

California Dr. Bob Sears Faces Medical Board Discipline for Writing Medical Vaccine Exemption

The mainstream media is widely reporting that California medical doctor Bob Sears is facing discipline by the California state Medical Board after he wrote a medical exemption for vaccines on behalf of a 2-year old patient who experienced adverse reactions from earlier vaccines. The Orange County Register reports: "According to the board documents, the toddler was seen by Sears for the first time in April 2014. His medical record notes that his mother said after his 2-month shots his bowels and bladder “shut down” for 24 hours. After the baby’s 3-month shots, she said, he was limp for a day and didn’t act like himself for a week." Dr. Sears is a well-known pediatrician nationally, and he is not anti-vaccine. He administers vaccines in his practice, but allows for a more individualized approach to vaccines, such as staggering them, or when necessary due to the health of his patients, forgoing some vaccines. He is the author of a very popular book, "The Vaccine Book." Dr. Sears was also an outspoken critic of California's mandatory vaccination bill SB277 that removed philosophical and religious exemptions to vaccines. Only medical exemptions are now allowed under this new bill. Dr. Sears favors "informed consent" and parental rights. Since Dr. Sears is a medical doctor and can legally write medical exemptions for vaccines, why is the state Medical Board investigating him for writing a medical exemption?

Dr. Sears: Mandatory Vaccines Bad for California, U.S.

Two bills threaten our freedom to make health care decisions. In California, Senate Bill 277 mandates that all children be fully vaccinated in order to attend public school, private school or day care. Unprecedented opposition has risen up against it as parents statewide stand up for their rights. Now, a federal bill has just been submitted to match it: H.R. 2232 will require states to have mandatory vaccine laws for public school attendance in order to receive federal grant money for preventive health services. It’s essentially a financial threat by the federal government for all states to get their citizens in line. As an Orange County pediatrician, I give vaccines in my office every day. I’ll be one of the first to acknowledge how important they are. But when we take a closer look at what these drastic changes really mean, wiser minds will realize they are bad choices for our state and our nation.
